Kindergarten Memo
May 13th - May 18th, 2012 Days 5-9
Letter of the Week – This week, we will be working on our final letter, the letter Kk. Please continue to review the other letters. Next week, we will celebrate completing all letters of the alphabet.
Cafeteria - This will be week 2 on the Cafeteria schedule.
Volunteer Appreciation - All of the parents, grandparents, and friends of the school who have helped us out in any way during the school year, are invited to attend a reception in your honor. This will take place in the Aula Maxima on Tuesday evening, beginning at 7:30p.m. We look forward to seeing you there and thank you for your continued support!
Oratorical Presentations - Each year, the students of St. Bonaventure's College take part in the Oratorical Presentations. It gives the children an opportunity to get on stage and speak in front of a group. We would like each child to choose a short poem or nursery rhyme to recite. Please send a copy of your chosen poem or rhyme to your child's teacher by Thursday and keep a copy for home. The children will be presenting them on the stage of the Aula Maxima on Wednesday, May 30th in the afternoon, at a time to be announced. Parents are welcome to attend.
Let's Go Fly a Kite - As we are doing the letter Kk, we are asking all students to purchase or make a kite to bring in. We won't fly them until the end of next week, so please wait until after the long weekend to send them in. We will aim to fly them on either May 24th or May 25th, depending on the weather.
Long Weekend - There will be no classes on Monday, May 21st due to the Victoria Day holiday.
Kinderstart Session - There will be no classes for Kindergarten students on Tuesday, May 22nd, due to the final Kinderstart Session for the year.
Upcoming Dates to note:
- Saturday, May 26th - Recycling Blitz
- Wednesday, May 30th - Oratorical Presentations for Kindergarten and Grade 1 students
- Wednesday, June 13th - Kindergarten Celebration - 7:00p.m. Kindergarten students will be dismissed at 12:00 that day.
- Wednesday, June 20th - last day of school. Students will receive their final report cards and be dismissed at 12:00.
