Today we covered section 9.5. For homework do #4,5 on page 455-456 of the text.

Today we covered section 9.4 on types of sampling. For homework do #3,4,5,6,7,8,10 on page 448. 

Today we covered section 9.3 on Collecting data from a sample or a population. For homework please do #3,4,6,7,8,9,10 on page 440-441 of the text. Just a reminder that there will be an in-class assignment on this chapter next Monday, May 14th and a test on this unit next Thursday, May 17th.

Today we covered section 9.2 on potential problems with data collection. For homework please do #3,5,7,9,13 on page 435-436.  

Today we covered section 9.1 on statistics in society.For homework do #3,4,5,7,9,11 on page 427-428 in the text.

Today we reviewed for test #8 which is tomorrow. The final test for the year, on chapter 9, will be on May 17th.

Today was the second in-class assignment on unit 8. The test for unit 8 will be on Tuesday, May 1st. 

Today we covered section 8.3 on angle properties. For homework do #3,4,5,6,7,11 on page 410-411 in the text. There will be an in-class assignment tomorrow on section 8.3. The test on this unit will be next Tuesday, May 1st. 

Today we reviewed the first two sections of unit 8 and worked on the mid-unit review on page 403. Students had to hand in this review at the end of class but anyone who did not finish all the questions would benefit from finishing them at home.

Today we covered section 8.2. For homework do #3-7, 10,11 on page 397-398 of the text. There will be an in-class assignment on the first two sections tomorrow.

Today we covered section 7.7 on identifying symmetry on the cartesian plane. For homework please do #3,4,6,7,8,9,12 on page 373 of the text. There will be an in-class assignment on Tuesday and a test on unit 7 on Thursday of next week.

Today we covered section 7.6 on rotational symmetry. For homework do #6,7,8,9,10,12,13 on page 365 of the text. Students are reminded that there will be an inclass assignment on Tuesday and a test next Thursday on Unit 7.

Today we covered section 7.5. For homework do #4,5,6,8,9,10 on page 358 in the text. There will be a test on this unit next Thursday.

Today we covered section 7.4. For homework do #4,5,6,7,9,11,12,14 on page 349.

Today we covered section 7.3 on similar polygons. For homework do #5,6,7,9,10,13 on page 241 of the text. This homework is due on Monday.

Today we covered section 7.2 on scale diagrams and reductions. For homework please do #5,8,10,11,20 on page 329-331 of the textbook.

Today we covered section 7.1 on scale diagrams and enlargements. for homework do #4,6,7,11,12 on page 323 of the text.

Today was the test on unit 6.

Today we covered section 6.5 on solving inequalities with multiplication and division. For homework please do #3,7,9,11,13,15 on page 305-306 of the text. There will be an in-class assignment on sections 6.3-6.5 on Wednesday and a test on unit 6 on Friday.

Today we covered section 6.4 on solving inequalities. For homework please do #4,8,9,12,13 on page 298 of the text.

Today we covered section 6.3 on linear inequalities. For homework do #3,4,8,9,12,13 on page 292.

Today we covered section 6.2. For homework do page 280 #6,7,10, 14,16. There will be an in-class assignment next class.

Today we finished the last examples from section 6.1. For homework do #8-10 (assigned last day) and #11-18 on page 272. 

Today was the test on unit 5. Please complete the homework from 6.1 for next class.

Today we covered the first half of section 6.1. The test on unit 5 is tomorrow. We will continue 6.1 on Thursday. For Thursday please do #8,9,10 on page 273.

Today we reviewed for the math test. The test will be on Tuesday for ALL students, including those who traveled to Montreal. No new material was covered so those gone haven't missed anything on the test. If you were among those who were away this week please bring your assignment #2 with you Monday. 

Today was the second in-class assignment for unit 5. The test for this unit will be on Tuesday, Jan 31st. 

Today we covered section 5.6 on multiplying and dividing by a monomial. For homework please do #11,12,16,21, and 22 on page 256 of the text. The in-class assignment on the last half of the chapter will be this Friday and the test on Unit 5 will be on Tuesday January 31st. 

Today we covered section 5.5 on multiplying and dividing polynomials by a constant. For homework please do #7,8,9,15,and 16 on page 246-247 of the text.

Today we covered section 5.4 on subtracting polynomials. For homework please do #7,8,10,13,16 on page 234 of the text.

Today we covered section 5.3 on adding polynomials. For homework please do #3, 8(every second letter), 9(every second letter), 10, 14 on page 228 in the text. 

Today we covered section 5.2 on like and unlike terms. For homework please do #6,8,11a,c,e,12a,c,e, and 14 on page 222 of the text. And to those of you who elected to step out for the last few minutes of class, please be advised that the question you missed will very likely show up on an evaluation so please review it on your own time. 

Today we went over the exam. Next class we will begin unit 5.

Today we reviewed units 2 and 3 on exponents and rational numbers. A set of review sheets was handed out. These sheets were also emailed to those for whom I have addresses and the electronic version includes answers. If you did not receive either the hardcopy or the electronic version and would like to, please let me know.

Today we reviewed unit 1 on square roots. For extra practice see the unit review and practice test at the end of the unit on page 45 of the text.

Today was the in-class assignment on unit 4. If you took this home to finish please place it in the Math 9 "IN" folder tomorrow morning.

Today we covered section 4.5 on estimating values from graphs. Do #4,7,8,9,13 on page 196 of the text for homework.

Today we went over all the rules needed for order of operations for rational numbers. There will be an in-class assignment on Wednesday, and the test for this unit will be next Wednesday, November 16th. For homework tonight do #3,4,7,8,16,18 on page 140-142 of the textbook.

Today we covered section 3.6 on order of operations with rational numbers. For homework please do # 1,3,4,5 on page 133 of the workbook. There will be an in-class assignment on November 9th and the test for this unit will be on Tuesday November 15th.

Today we covered section 3.5 on dividing rational numbers. For homework do #5,6,8,9,12,17,18 on page 134 in the textbook. There will be a test next Wednesday.

Today we covered sectin 3.3 on subtracting rational numbers. For homework please do #5,7,8,9,11,13 on page 119-120 of the text.

Today we finished section 2.4. If you did not complete them in class, please finish the following for homework, textbook page 111, # 3,7,8,9,11,15,17.

Today we covered section 3.2 on adding rational numbers. For homework please do # 5&6 on page 108 in the workbook.

Today we finished section 3.1. For homework please do #5& 6 on page 101 of the workbook and #10,12a,b,13,14a,h,23a,b,24 on page 101 in the text.

Today we began section 3.1 on rational numbers. We will continue this section next class. No homework tonight. 

Today was the test in Unit 2. For homework please complete the following problem solver:

Sam nees to rent a car for his upcoming trip. CheapWheels charges $20.25 per day plus $0.14 per km. Easy Rider charges $18.25 per day plus $0.22 per km. Sam plans to do a lot of driving on his 3-day trip. Which company should Sam go with? Explain your choice. Does the difference in cost go up or down as mileage increases? Support your answer.

Today we covered section 2.5. For homework please do #4,5,6,10,14,19 on page 84-85 in the text.

Today we covered section 2.4 on Exponent Laws. For homework do #4,5,8,10,13 on page 76-77 of the text book. The test on unit 2 will be Friday Oct 14th.

Today we did an in class assignment for the first half of unit 2. The homework from section 2.3 will be checked next class. Test #1 was also handed back today. If you wish to submit corrections for extra marks please get them in as soon as possible.

Today we covered section 2.3 on order of operations with exponents. For homework please do #5&6 on page 70 of the workbook and #4,8,10,12,14,15,16 on page 66-67 of the text.

Test #1 is postponed until Wednesday. In the mean time we covered section 3.2. For homework (to be checked later in the week) do #4-6 and 8-10 on page 61 of the text. Don't forget that there is a ath tutorial tomorrow during the tag period!

Today we covered section 2.1 on the idea of a power. For homework please do #1-7 in the workbook on pages 57-58. The test on unit 1 is scheduled for Monday so this homework will be checked on Wednesday.

Today we worked on an in-class assignment that proved to be too longo to complete in class. Students have taken it home and will have a little time tomorrow to complete it in class. It must be handed in no later than Thursday.

Today we covered Section 1.4 on surface area of more complex conjugates. For homework please do #1-3 on pages 41-43 of the workbook. In-class assignment tomorrow on this chapter. Test on Frida!

Today we finished the last example in section 1.3 on surface areas involving rectangular prisms. For next class please have the following completed: Workbook page 28-32 #1-5, and textbook pg 30-32 #4,5,6,8,10.
