Today we reviewed unit 3 and continued with the practice questions. Keep working on the review. I promise it will pay off!

Today we reviewed unit 2 on limits and continuity. Please keep working on the review materials and let me know if you need extra practice on any topic. The exam is 15 days from today!

Today we finished section 6.4 and thereby finished the entire AP Calculus course! For homework on the cylindrical shell method see #3-20 on page 459.

Today we finished section 6.3 and began section 6.4. For practice please do some from #1-18 on page 452 and #3-20 on page 459.

Today we finished section 6.2 and began section 6.3. For practice do some from page 467 #1-15.

Today we covered most of section 6.2 on the average value of a function. We will finish this next class.

Today we covered the first half of section 5.10. For practice see page 411 #17-40 and page 402 #19-42.

Today we covered section 5.8 on Riemann sums. Practice problems can be found on page 390 ##1-4.

Today we covered section 5.6 on sigma notation. Fpr practice please do some from page A38 #1-35, 41-19.

Today we covered section 5.5 on separable differential equations. For practice please do some from page 607 # 1-24. Also just a reminder that your worksheets in integration by substitution and integration by parts are past due.

Today we covered section 5.4 on proportional growth. For practice please do some from page 621 #1-13, 18, 21. 

Today we went obver section 5.3 for those who had missed it. Please try to finish both the worksheets on integration by substitution and integration by parts for Monday.

Today we covered section 5.3 on integration by parts. Begin working on the worksheet for homework.

Today we covered section 5.2 on integration by substitution. Next class you will work on the worksheet on this material. This worksheet must be completed at home and submitted by Friday.

Today we covered section 5.1 on antiderivatives. For practice please do some from page 358 #3,7,10,14,18,27,32,45,62,65.

There was no new material covered today due to poor attendance.

Today was the test on unit 4. Next class we will move on to Unit 5.

Today we reviewed for the test on unit 4. This test will be on Tuesday, Feb 7th.

Today we covered Section 4.8 on Newton's method of approximating roots. For practice see page 267 #7,9,13,21,31 and page 351 #7,3,21.

Today we covered section 4.7 on differentials and linear approximations. For practice please do some from page 267-268 #1-8, 21-26.

Today we covered section 4.6 on the mean value theorem. For practice try #1,3,5,11,13 on page 285 of the text. Please hand in the assignents from chapter 4 as soon as possible. The test on chapter 4 will be next Tuesday, Feb 7th. 

Today we finished section 4.5 on optimization problems. For practice please do some from page 336, #2-50.

Today was the curve sketching component of test #4. We will continue with section 4.6 next class.

Today we covered the first half of section 4.5 on optimization problems. We will continue next class. Remember that the curve sketching test is on Wednesday.

Today we finished section 4.4. This concludes the portion on curve sketching. Please finish the assignment on this topic. The curve skething portion of the test will take place on Wednesday January 25th. 

Today we finished section 4.3 and began section 4.4. We will continue 4.4 next class but in the mean time you can begin the curvce sketchin assignment.

Today we covered most of Section 4.3 on the second derivative test. We will finish the last two examples next class and move on to section 4.4. No homework tonight!

Today we covered section 4.2 on the first derivative test. For practice please do page 304 #1-10.

Today we finihsed section 4.1. For practice see page 286, #3-10, 47-62.

Today we began section 4.1 on absolute values. No homework tonight. We'll finish the section tomorrow.

Today we went over the midterm exam. Tomorrow we'll start unit 4. 

There will be a tutorial on Wed, Dec 14th from 1-2pm. Location will be posted on the door of room 302. The intention is for students to come with questions. I will not be conducting a structured review.

Today students worked on the take-home test for unit 3. Please finish this at home and hand it in on Friday.

Today we covered sections 3.12 and 3.13 on derivatives of inverse4 trig functions and L'Hopital's Rule. For homework please do some from #5-62 on page 313.

Today we covered sections 3.10 and 3.11. Look at #2-32 and 35-50 on page 249.

Today we covered section 3.9 on differentiability. For homework please do #37, 38, 40, 42 on page 173. 

Today we covered related rate problems. For homework please do some from #1-38 on page 260.

Today we covered section 3.7 on higher order derivatives. For homework please do some from #5-32 on page 240 of the text.

Today we covered section 3.6 on Implicit Differentiation. If you were absent please have a look through section 3.6 in the text book. For homework please so a selection of problems from page 233 #5-20, 23-30.

As of today all students should be familiar with material up to section 3.5 on the Chain rule. Practice problems for section 3.4 can be found on page 216, #1-30, and practice on the chain rule can be found on page 224, #7-49, 53,68.

Today we finished 3.4 on trig derivatives. We also went on to go through section 3.5 on the chain rule. We will go over the chain rule again in Thursdays class. 

Today we worked through the first 4 examples in section 3.4. We will finish this section next class. Assignment #3 should be submitted on Monday/

No new material was covered today. Old assignments from a university math course were handed out for extra practice. If you were absent and would like copies please let me know.

Today we covered section 3.1 on the definition of derivative. For homework please do some from page 163 #13-24.

Today was the test on Unit 2.

Today we covered sections 2.6 and 2.7. Assignment #2 is due on Tuesday. For homework please do #17,29,33 on page 133, #34 on page 147 and #30 on page 103. Test next Thursday!

Today we covered section 2.5 on infinite limits. For homework please do #21-26, 29, 30, 31(a) on page 102.

Today we covered the end of section 2.3 and all of section 2.4. For homework please do some from page 133 #4,12,19,23,36,39,40,41b,c,d,43,48,50,51, and page 147 #9,11,13,15,17,19,21,25,27,29,31,37,39.

Today we finished off section 2,2. Please do the homework assigned last class if you haven't already done so. Assignment #2 was handed out but no due date has yet been assigned.

Today we covered section 2.2 on calculating limits. For homework please do #11-30, 45, 48 on page 112 in the text. We will continue with this section tomorrow.

Today we reviewed for test #1 (on Friday) and covered section 2.1 on the idea of a limit. For homework please do some problems from #4-10,12,19 on page 102-103 of the text.

Today we covered sections 1.5 and 1.6. For homework please do #13-29 and #47-55 on page A9. Please keep in mind that assignment #1 is due by Monday at the latest and the test on unit 1 is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept 21st.
