Homework
HWK. for Monday, May 14th - May 18th, 2012
Sorry about the delay in posting the homework. Swimming this week again on Thursday morning and GYM tomorrow afternoon ( Day 7, Wednesday) . The children made a little booklet today on Jack and the Beanstalk which they are taking home to read to you tonight. The more Reading practice and opportunities they can get now the better!
READING: NO Baggie books and white Reading Record folders for this week. List #10 is going home next week, so this is the last week for List #9. Children have taken home DIVE IN again this week to read their new story I FIX THINGS. They should also read all of the stories prior to this one in DIVE IN for extra practice. Many children are close to reading at the I level right now ( I level is expected at the end of Grade One going into Grade two ). The more practice children get with their Word Lists and with daily and nightly reading, the more quickly and easily they will be able to read at the required level.
SPELLING: Our new words belong to the "ot" family and they are: blot cot dot got hot pot spot trot robot Bonus word: forgot
NO Spelling sentences this week. Instead they are to read the story about Spot and Scot and then complete the sentences on the worksheets at the end of this story. Spelling test on Friday!
MATH: They are to complete p. 98 ( Comparing Masses). We will be finishing up our present unit on Measurement this week and will be starting our final unit in Math next week ( Addition and Subtraction of Numbers to 20)
NO classes on Monday, May 21st. Enjoy the week and the long weekend. (:)
