Socials test, Chapter 4, on Thursday.
Please bring in items needed for Christmas craft as soon as possible.
As a gesture of kindness and giving, the grade 6 students have decided to help people in our community that may be in need this Christmas. We have chosen the elderly as we felt they can be easily overlooked at this time of year. It was decided to ask each student to bring in a "gently loved" teddy bear from home that we can bring to the residents of St. Luke's as Christmas gifts. Each child will tag a bear with a card saying something to the effect of "This bear has been loved lots by me, now, I'd like to pass that love along to you".
I have been in contact with St. Luke's and they think it is a wonderful idea. They have invited us to visit Tuesday morning, December 20th, at 10:15 to present the gifts and perhaps sing a carol or 2. I did find out there are approximately 120 residents. I know we only have 19 students but perhaps, with some extra digging around, we can come up with many more bears so no residents feel left out. If these bears could be sent in tomorrow, we can begin our count. Please note, this is not an activity that should cost anything so please, don't go out and buy new bears to donate! :-)

If anyone happens across some, please email me so I can let everyone know where they can be found. :-) I have also asked for a few buttons from each student and a small gift bag. They are also welcome to bring in something small (if they wish) to personalize their craft.
